Walking activity for 6th form

With Covid restrictions in place we have been unable to access the classical tourist hotspots of the North Wales countryside. However, Ruthin is surrounded by beautiful paths and hills that we can access by walking directly from school. An intrepid group of 6th formers have been doing weekly evening walks to explore our local natural beauty spots including Rhyd y Gaseg, Lady Bagot’s Drive and Moel y Gyw. This is a world apart from the city life of their homelife, but they were not afraid to get their feet muddy and face the variable Welsh weather. These students are now totally hooked on hiking and can’t wait to get out walking on some bigger days out in Snowdonia when the time is right.
