U18 Football against Abbeygate U18

The U18 team went in to the game full of confidence following their 3-2 win over Shrewsbury. The game started brightly with both sides giving 100% effort. Ruthin were producing the better football and took the lead through a well worked goal by Taewoo. Another soon followed by Tom Butler giving Ruthin a 2-0 lead. This was soon cut back with Abbeygate scoring after a long through ball. Henry then made two vital saves in goal which kept the lead for Ruthin at half time.

The second half followed the same pattern but two excellent goals from Taewoo and a debut goal from Billy Songhurst made it 5-1. Abbeygate scored a late consolation goal but the game was already won by Ruthin.

It was a physical game from both sides and Ruthin went down to ten men after Oliver was sent off.

Men of the Match : Taewoo for his three goals and Iestyn for controlling the midfield.
