On 26th June, thirty nine students and four members of staff, Mr. Blandford, Mrs. Crowther, Miss Foster and Mr. Stark travelled with Jet2 from Liverpool to spend five unforgettable days in Tossa de Mar in Catalonia. The location of our hotel was rich in Spanish culture as well as being set in an area of outstanding beaches and mesmerising views.
The visit to the Nou Camp of Barcelona Football Club was both inspiring and intriguing. Students were given the opportunity to learn about their legendary football team and absorb the dynamic atmosphere of the stadium. A long walk along Las Ramblas culminated in a relaxing and enjoyable beach activity.
Friday’s visit to Dali’s art museum gave us an insight into the work of famous artists and sculptors and also provided a welcome relief from the heat of the Spanish sun, where temperatures soared to a staggering 47 degrees! In order to provide us with further ‘cooling’ activities, a visit to a local lake was organised. Here we were able to swim freely and socialise in the refreshing waters.
On our final day, we were treated to a glass bottom boat trip and the activity ended on a high with a disco at the hotel. We were impressed with the teachers’ moves on the dance floor!
The Catalonia trip for the Lower School was without doubt a unique experience that allowed us to enjoy ourselves and further develop our language skills. A number of long-lasting memories were made and many of us aspire for a similar excursion to be organised in the near future.
“Gracias” to all the teachers for a wonderful vacation. We all had an excellent time!
