Ruthin vs Shewsbury 6th October2019

This was the Under 16’s second away game of the season, having lost their last game at St David’s. The team were desperate to get back to winning ways. Ruthin started off well, keeping the ball and limiting Shrewsbury’s chances of scoring. Joe had a good shot on goal which was pushed wide by the Shrewsbury keeper. Ruthin began to push for the goal, it came through a created pass by Joe to Charlie who strike the ball across goal to make it 1-0 to Ruthin. Shrewsbury then began to push for the equalizer after some goal line clearances from Agi and saves from Gareth. Ruthin went into half time 1-0 up. During the half time Ruthin appreciated that Shrewsbury were going to come out fighting. Ruthin started the second half really well with Joe being awarded a penalty and he scored to make it 2-0. Shrewsbury then made it 2-1 with a great shot into the top corner. The Ruthin defence were very busy during the second half to keep the lead. Towards the end of the game Ruthin scored on the counter attack. Ricky with a great individual goal sealed the victory for Ruthin. Final score Shrewsbury 1 -3 Ruthin. Man of the Match was Agi.
