Football report

Oswestry 2nds V Ruthin School

On a perfect afternoon for football, Ruthin travelled to Oswestry on the back of two defeats. The team consisted of three changes and nervous tension was evident.

This was soon dispelled when Ruthin took early control of the game through excellent football. The goals came in quick succession with Chai, Marco x2 and Josh all converting, although a goal was conceded just before half time. The half time score was 4-1.

Three changes were made at half time to give all those who had travelled time on the pitch. The game carried on as the first half with both Marco and Josh completing their hat tricks and Chai getting a second. The next goal, which was a penalty was scored by Jack D in his first real game back after a long illness, was celebrated by all. Alex also got on the team sheet with a fully deserved goal and was also given Man of the Match. The final score was 10-2.

A much better performance by the whole team, but there is still a lot to improve on.
