Football match report v St David’s

This was the U16’s first game of the year with players in the squad for the first time. Ruthin started off playing well, having lots of the ball. The game was even throughout the first half but St. David’s had the better chances later on and took the lead through a corner. Ruthin responded well to going a goal down and had a number of chances in the space of a few minutes with Eugene having a great chance to equalise that just put it past the post. Half time came and Ruthin had to make some substitutions due to injury. Ruthin carried on playing well as a team and tried to get the equaliser. Jason had a shot from outside the box which hit the crossbar. It just was not Ruthin’s day. As Ruthin pushed players forward to get the equaliser in the last 10 minutes, St David’s scored two goals from counter attacks which finalised the result.

Man of the Match goes to George who never gave up and played well during the game. A special mention to Javen who came on as a substitute in his first U16 game and performed very well.
