With increasing responsibility comes maturity.

Prefects are appointed after consultation with staff and pupils. The Prefect body is a very important part of the School. Senior pupils develop through assuming responsibility in their House and School. They lead by example; they encourage, help, support and advise; they supervise, organise and initiate; they arrange events, select and coach teams and are often a source of inspiration to those who aspire to follow in their footsteps.

They have regular meetings and learn to develop their management skills but are aware of the need to seek support and advice when they encounter difficulties. They work closely with the staff and help organise the routines of the day. Important skills are developed – leadership, delegation, motivation, negotiation, and addressing a public forum.
