Ye Olde Anchor

The local press recently published an article revealing that it is our intention to purchase “Ye Olde Anchor” – a historic hotel located near Ruthin School.

We made an offer to purchase the property (subject to obtaining local government planning permission) which was accepted by the current owners.

The property has 25 ensuite bedrooms and will be completely refurbished to a very high standard to accommodate 25 Upper Sixth students.

This is a very exciting time for Ruthin School. We believe that our increased popularity is as a result of our outstanding academic performance at A Level. In addition, we maintain class sizes of 10, and employ high quality academic staff.

Additional staff have been employed for September 2013 – with additional specialists in Chemistry, English and Geography. Two new Physics laboratories are currently being created, and a large investmentin ICT will take place in the summer months.

Further changes will be introduced from September to ensure that the School experience is truly 24 hours, 7 days a week. Saturday morning testing will be introduced for Sixth Form students and a range of vibrant activities will take place every evening from 7.30 -10.00 pm and each weekend.
