Volunteering in the Community

Several of our Sixth Form students began volunteering at Llanbedr Primary School last week. Bomi Kang, Darren Ng, Fawziyyah Ahmed and Michelle Lin all had a great afternoon and are looking forward to planning activities to do with the children for Chinese New Year, which is coming up next term.
It has been a fantastic term of volunteering; our students have had a really positive impact in and around Ruthin. The Mill Nursery, Ysgol Pen Barras, Rhos Street Primary School have all reported back glowing reports of our students; their enthusiasm with the children has been outstanding and our overseas students are enriching classrooms with their unique, worldwide perspective.  Other volunteers have been working hard in local charity shops, the driving range, St John Ambulance, the Garden Centre and Ruthin Football Club. Trosnant Care Home have been thrilled with the kindness and friendliness shown by Elin Wynne and Dolly Ye and Tatiana’s professional tennis playing skills have been put to very good use at the tennis club. Well done to all have taken part this term and a big thank you to Ruthin for supporting and welcoming our students into the community.
