Term starts with a white-out

The first day of term was not exactly as we had planned. Snow fell from early morning onto already frozen ground and many day pupils could not get to School. By early afternoon the situation had escalated and pupils  left for home leaving those boarders who had managed to return to School to enjoy the deluge; for some it was the first time they had experienced snow.  The main roads became very difficult and dependent on a snow plough, for even the gentle rise up to towards the School became too difficult for some vehicles. The situation will have to improve considerably overnight in order for  all staff and pupils to reach School tomorrow.
