National Senior Team Maths Challenge

It was an early start for our team of Sophia, Edward, Arthur and Stephen having to get up at 5.30am to get an early train last Tuesday to London for the national final. Mr French joined them at the station and we had a good journey to the city. We all settled into the competition with 61 other regional winners from around the UK. The sight of so many gifted mathematicians inside one room is inspirational and the contest started with great excitement and anticipation by all there. At the end of the day we were given 11th place overall with the team just getting 3 questions wrong. This is another amazing achievement for the school when you consider we are up against much bigger independent and grammar schools. In the last three years we have improved our overall position each time. So next year, perhaps we can get ourselves into a podium position. The competition was actually won by Westminster School with Eton College being in joint 2nd position with two other schools. We all got home quite late on Tuesday evening but we were happy with our efforts on the day. Thank you to Sophia, Edward, Arthur and Stephen for all your efforts in getting the school into this position. Well done!!!!!
