Go karting fun

On Sunday 16th Nov, five teams from Ruthin School participated in a Go Karting Charity event hosted by The Circuit Indoor Raceway at Sandycroft, Deeside. Each team paid £250 to enter. The full entry fee was donated to St. Kentigern’s Hospice, the nominated charity of Elgar House, raising £1250 for the charity. In total, St. Kentigern’s raised £5000 from the event. Pupils and staff from across the school participated. The organisers ran a separate competition for the teams from Ruthin School and awarded a trophy, individual medals and a bottle of champagne to the winners: Gerald, Hao, Cloud, Abhay and Terry. The teams drove in a qualifying session followed by a 2 hour endurance race, with a minimum of 6 pit stops for driver changes. Staff and pupils thoroughly enjoyed the day and many are eager to return to the track!
