Form 4 geography trip to Chester

On Friday 20th May, Form 4 geography students visited Chester as part of their IGCSE course. They investigated how the redevelopment of the bus station has impacted the urban environment.

They collected a variety of data including pedestrian counts, traffic surveys, environmental quality surveys and questionnaires.

Back in school they will now analyse this data and combine it with the secondary data collected from newspaper articles and old photographs in order to make their conclusions on the enquiry.

Students will be examined on these skills and techniques in their IGCSE exams next summer and geographical fieldwork also provides them with good cross-curricular skills that will benefit them in other subjects, such as the sciences.
