On Monday 17th November three pupils attended the Flintshire Fairtrade Coalition AGM in Holywell to give a presentation to the group about Fairtrade at Ruthin School.  We had been invited by Ann Gannon who visits the school each year to talk about Fairtrade and its benefits.  Ann feels that as a school we have achieved a lot since we first received Fairtrade School status in 2011.  Tiana Cole (L6), Megan Goodey (F5) and Nick Young (F4) spent time preparing their presentation about the activities that have taken place in school over the last 3 years including tuck shops, cake sales, a Fairtrade breakfast, raffles and even a fashion show using Fairtrade clothes.  The group were very impressed with the efforts of the school and commended the pupils on an excellent, well delivered presentation.  The group were celebrating their 10th birthday that evening so we were invited to celebrate with them and enjoy their Fairtrade birthday cake!
Look out for more Fairtrade events happening in school in the New Year.
