Eco-Green Flag Award
On 20th January, Ruthin School had their assessment to renew the school’s Green Flag status. It is an international award which is celebrated and achieved in 58 countries globally. The school has been working hard over the previous two years to maintain this award. Our achievements include the digging and development of the pond at the bottom of the school field, the improvement of the ‘quad’ to make it a much more inviting and friendly area and the encouragement of more recycling within all areas of the school, including boarding. Mr Hewer has continued to work tirelessly in maintaining the school ecology and is supported by student helpers at weekends. Miss B. helped to organise the Earth Hour event, which involved the whole school and it is hoped that this will be continued. Much work has been completed by both pupils and staff in all areas of the school to make Ruthin School environmentally aware and respectful for future generations. A big thank you to Lulu and Megan H for showing Catrin the Eco–inspector around the school.
