Dressing up for Charity
Austen House’s chosen charity is the Love Hope Strength Foundation. This charity promotes innovative, music related, outreach and awareness programmes for leukaemia and cancer sufferers, survivors and their families. Funds are used to purchase medical equipment and supplies, raise awareness through special events, documentaries and media, build cancer centres and recruit potential donors to the organ and bone marrow registers.
As a fundraising initiative, a group of staff and students were sponsored to dress up as pantomime characters before attending the school outing to the pantomime at Theatre Clwyd. A picture of them in their finery is attached. Early indications are that over £300 has been pledged for this very worthy cause.
