Changes at Ruthin School
Due to the increased demand for places in the Senior School, the Council of Management has announced a major change in the educational provision provided by Ruthin School.
From the beginning of the next academic year, 1st September 2011, Ruthin School will become a secondary school, open only to pupils from Years 7 to 13. (ages 11 to 18) This change will ensure that we can provide the best standard of education for all students attending the school, be they local or part of Ruthin’s growing international community. The Council of Management regrets that for reasons of demographics and falling demand the primary section of Ruthin School will close from September 2011, but believes that this decision allows us to focus the resources of the school on the secondary phase for which there is increasing demand both from the Ruthin area and from overseas.
The School has set up a scheme to consult individually with pupils and parents affected by this decision (i.e. those in current Years FC up to 5). Advice and help will be provided to enable smooth transitions from Ruthin to alternative schools.
