Art Competition Winner

Many congratulations to Araly Zheng, a Lower Sixth student, who was one of three winners of an art competition.

In September 2014 'Free Spirit' launched their 'Image of a Horse’ fund raising art competition into primary and secondary schools across the UK.   Their aim is to site a life sized bronze statue of a horse at the National Memorial Arboretum (NMA), Staffordshire. This accolade to the horse is the only memorial the NMA has granted to an animal in its own right. The inspiration came from Gartmore Riding School, Staffordshire. Their mission is to have a lasting memorial acknowledging the horse’s unfaltering service to mankind through times of conflict, work and in sport, rehabilitation and education.

The winning pictures will be on display for three days at Aintree Racecourse.  Araly and her mother will be attending a presentation on Saturday 11th April on the Grand National Race Day.  Araly will receive £100 to spend in Hobbycraft.
