Welcome to Ruthin School Summer Courses
Improvement of English Language skills through traditional teaching, academic subject teaching, a full activities programme and whole-day excursions.
Ruthin School Summer Courses take place in the months of July and August each year. The July course (5 weeks) provides students with a mixture of English Language teaching and Academic teaching (students choose from Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and Economics). There is the option to extend the course by a further two weeks.
The August course (2.5 weeks) is designed to help young people improve their English language skills, through traditional teaching of grammar, use of English and vocabulary-building. In addition students choose two subjects of particular interest to them from a range of options. These will vary from year to year, but could include football, fashion, camping, advertising, dance, drama, music, art and photography.
Students on both courses have the opportunity to take part in a number of activities. These take place each afternoon with full-day excursions at weekends. The full-day excursions will include trips to major cities including London, Manchester, Liverpool, Oxford, Stratford and York, and to Alton Towers.
