CCF

Pupils develop skills valued by employers - leadership, decision-making, teamwork, working under pressure and co-operation.

All pupils join the CCF - Navy or Army. A wide range of transferable skills are developed. Pupils have the opportunity to attend annual camps at RNAS Culdrose or a central camp, and there is also the popular Clyde Fleet Tender week, involving the development of nautical skills in addition to learning to work together as part of a team. Courses are available in the vacations and cadets have participated in a wide range - leadership, gunnery, power boating and bands.

The Corps enters the annual Cadet Cambrian Patrol Competition, an arduous two-day competition involving map and compass, command tasks, first aid, survival skills and an assault course. The Corps offers opportunities to develop skills valued by employers - leadership, decision-making, teamwork, working under pressure and co-operation.

On the water, challenging canoeing expeditions have been undertaken ranging from a weekend 35-mile journey to a week long 60-mile trip along the River Wye. Canoeing and sailing are popular options in the summer term and many cadets return with qualifications.
