The first week in May has been a resounding success for the Chemistry Department at Ruthin School.
On Tuesday 1st, four of our younger students from Forms 1 and 2 visited Bangor University and took part in the Salters’ Festival of Chemistry. Working as a team they solved problems and completed analytical tasks. Our intrepid quartet made up of Elijah, Tesni, William and Abi came in first place, dropping only 1 mark in the round designed to be the most difficult to complete.
On Thursday 3rd May, two teams of three students from our Lower Sixth also visited Bangor University to compete in the RSC Schools’ Analyst Regional competition. Our teams came first and second after completing some challenging analytical tasks. The winning team will return to Bangor in late June to compete in the National Finals of the competition. Well Done Christopher, Eden and Emily; Hugh, Amber and Angela.
