Message from the Head
"We provide new and stimulating experiences and treat every child as an individual, which results in high levels of achievement ..."
Our reputation is based on an environment designed to encourage learning and promote self-discipline. With traditional values, well resourced classrooms, small classes and qualified, caring and experienced staff, we welcome children aged 7 to 13 into a happy, caring, secure environment.
The Preparatory School accepts pupils from the age of 7 to 13, after which they transfer to the Senior School. A wide curriculum is followed with emphasis upon the basic skills of reading, writing and numeracy, leading to preparation for the Scholarship Examinations for the Senior School.
Academic progress is monitored through regular internal assessments and National Key Stage tests. Conversational French and Welsh are introduced from age 7 with Mandarin added at age 10. Confidence in self-expression is developed by preparing pupils for the English Speaking Board Examinations. Classes are small to ensure individual attention, and pupils are allocated to classes according to their stage of development, which is as important as their age during the formative years. The Preparatory School has access to Senior School facilities.
