Toby Belfield is appointed Principal of Ruthin School from 1st September 2010
The Council of Management is pleased to announce that Toby Belfield has accepted an invitation to succeed John Rowlands as Principal of Ruthin School following John’s retirement at the end of August 2010.
A graduate from Cambridge University, Toby started his teaching career at Concord College, Shrewsbury before moving to Liverpool College as Assistant Director of Studies and then to Ruthin as Head of Sixth Form.
In 2004, Toby left Ruthin School to join Capita Education Services as a Product Manager, responsible for the development of management software used in 22,000 schools world-wide. In 2006 he was appointed to the role of Deputy Director, taking responsibility for the product development, sales and marketing of Sims (school information management system) within the independent schools sector.
Toby returned to Ruthin School in 2008, initially as Bursar and more recently as Vice-Principal. He has been instrumental in the recent changes resulting in improved academic performance and increase in pupil numbers and Council believe that he is best placed to ensure the continuity of education at Ruthin School.
